Well over a hundred singers will bring Christmas alive in two concerts.

The musicians from the Art of Dance and Fitness are aged between five and their eighties and will be delighting the expected sell-out audiences with all the traditional sounds of the season. They will be accompanied by the buglers of the Royal Marines Band from Portsmouth to add that extra special touch to the occasion. Adding some showbusiness sparkle to the events will be compere Ben Richards, currently starring in ITV's evergreen police drama The Bill.

ADF joint principal Tracy Betes said the concerts of the ageless favourites which summed up Christmas promised to be a real treat for the singers as much as the audiences.

"About 70 members of our adult choir will be performing and it's the one chance in a year they get to show what they can do. "The concerts are big occasions for them and they are really excited about performing," she explained.
A total of at least £5,000 should be raised by the concerts for two charities - St Wilfrid's Hospice and the Chestnut Tree House children's hospice.

This is the fourth year of the popular concerts and the second in which two shows will be held to meet the demand for seats.
